CONSULTANT ORTHOPAEDIC SURGEON

Remuneration: N54,000,000 – N72,000,000 pa + Bens (Based on Experience and Years of Experience)

Location: Lagos Island, Lagos, Nigeria

A consultant orthopaedic surgeon to diagnose, treat, and operate on complex diseases and injuries of the bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, and muscles.

To lead clinical teams, perform advanced surgeries, and manage emergency trauma cases

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Patient Care & Diagnosis: Run specialist outpatient clinics, assess musculoskeletal conditions, and review diagnostic scans.

Surgical Operations: Perform complex bone and joint procedures, such as fracture fixations, arthroscopies, or joint replacements.

Emergency & Trauma Management: Handle urgent or severe injuries from accidents as part of the on-call hospital rota.

Ward Rounds & Recovery: Lead daily ward rounds, oversee post-operative care, and plan patient rehabilitation with physiotherapists.

Team Leadership: Mentor and supervise junior doctors, residents, and surgical trainees.

Quality & Governance: Take part in clinical audits, mortality reviews, and hospital safety protocols.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

Fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College in Surgery or its equivalent

Medical Degree: Hold a recognized primary medical qualification.

Specialist Training: Complete advanced residency and fellowship training in trauma and orthopaedic surgery.

Licensure & Registration: Hold a valid license and registration with relevant medical councils (such as the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria or equivalent local/international regulatory bodies).

Skills: Strong leadership, precise hand-eye coordination, effective communication, and crisis management.
