Location: Lagos Island, Lagos, Nigeria

A Consultant Cardiologist responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing complex cardiovascular diseases, including coronary artery disease, heart failure, and arrhythmias. To lead inpatient/outpatient care, perform non-invasive (echo, stress tests) or invasive (cath lab) procedures, and provide expert consultation within a multidisciplinary team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Clinical Care: Perform outpatient consultations, conduct ward rounds in the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) and general wards, and provide on-call emergency coverage.

Procedures: Perform diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, such as echocardiography, stress testing, pacemaker insertion, or cardiac catheterization, depending on subspecialty.

Management & Strategy: Develop evidence-based treatment plans, manage patient documentation, and contribute to service development and strategic planning.

Leadership & Education: Supervise junior medical staff, train medical students, and participate in continuing medical education (CME).

Governance: Participate in audits, clinical governance activities, and quality improvement initiatives.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Education: Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with specialized training (MD/DM/FRCP/Board Certification) in Cardiology.

License: Active license to practice as a Consultant Cardiologist.

Expertise: High-level competence in interpreting cardiac diagnostics and performing interventions.

Soft Skills: Strong communication skills for patient counselling and team leadership, with the ability to work under pressure in emergency scenarios.
